The complex was opened in 1990 and the 18 hole, par 72 golf course is quite unique in its layout. Its Finnish designer, Kosti Kuronen, created two very distinctively different phases over the 6194m course.
The first 9 holes are over parkland terrain with open rolling fairways making for relatively uncomplicated play and inviting long hitters to stretch themselves. Most of the greens are extraordinarily large and some are even shared between holes, such as the 6th and 9th and the 12th and 16th.

For the second 9 holes, the terrain changes dramatically to a more American style layout, with elevated greens, hillier, trickier fairways with lakes and tropical vegetation all creating the need for more concentration during play. Refreshments are available at the practice area which is beside holes 7 and 9… the perfect half way point to stop off, cool down and socialise at on a hot day.
Other facilities include putting and chipping greens, a driving range, pro shop, a short 9 hole option and lessons are available.
The Guadalhorce Golf Clubhouse is an impressive 18th century Andalucian manor house, which retains many of its original features. The clubhouse is a busy, lively centre for extensive social events and entertainment and visitors will be impressed with the cuisine and service at the beautiful period style restaurant.
The club also run weekly competitions which are open to visitors and there are entry categories provided for beginner to advanced players.
