La Reserva Golf Course is one of the Costa’s most exclusive golf clubs; La Reserva de Sotogrande is located in a stunning part of the heights of Sotogrande’s macro-urbanisation at the foot of the Sierra de Almenara Mountains.
This superbly contoured, 18 hole, par 72, coastal course was designed by Cabell B. Robinson and opened in August 2003. Cabell designed the course under U.S.G.A. regulations and its 6700m length, computerised irrigation system and magnificent layout has many convinced, even at this early stage, that it will soon gain merit to play host to major European tournaments.
The course is set over a total area of 72 hectares of land, with native pine, olive and cork trees positioned in streamlined waves along the fairways. The idyllic scenery is set off by 4 lakes, with water on 6 holes but coming into play on just one.

La Reserva de Sotogrande’s wide, undulating fairways, large but well- guarded greens and variety of form as well as choice of 5 tees at each hole make it a gratifying course for all level of players.
The sloped, multi-level greens test the player’s ability to deal with speed and the course usually challenges players to use a wide variety of club to reach the greens in regulation.
The impressive 6000m2 Andalusian manor- style clubhouse houses 5 multi functional rooms, an English bar, 2 dining rooms, meeting rooms, a T.V. room, changing rooms, gymnasium and extensive terraces which overlook the course.
Visitors are welcome between 11.30 and 13.30 and proof of handicap must be shown. La Reserva de Sotogrande is within close proximity of the urbanisation’s horse riding school, The Elysium Spa and Sotogrande Golf School and with such well known golf courses as Valderrama and La Cañada as neighbours and Marbella just a short 20 minutes away…it is truly worth a visit for those looking for a memorable golfing experience of class and style.
